According to\u200b World Bank data, around the world, waste generation rates are rising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2020, the world was estimated to generate 2.24 billion tonnes of solid waste, amounting to a footprint of 0.79 kilograms per person per day. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set goals and actions to monitor the effectiveness of these activities. The SDGs have many directions including good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and community, climate action, life below water, life on land, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, some people still do not understand the impact of littering, and we call on those who visit the natural resorts or plces to help pack the trash well, seek the bin around and put the trash into the trash bin. Or if there is no trash bin around, you should pack your trash and bring back home for your own sake as well as for the environment\u2019s sake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Poor waste management has many side effects as plastics take longer to decompose. Small pieces of plastic that poses a risk by releasing toxic chemicals into the environment, killing animals and affecting human health, causing disease. Infections from microorganisms cause respiratory diseases, food poisoning, infections in the urethra. Toxic substances that flow out of landfills contaminate soil and water.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" data-src=\"https:\/\/oja.misotagroup.com\/ftpadmin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Waste-and-Green-Production3-300x217-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1989 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/217;width:225px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This mean, each of us has a responsibility to contribute to the protection of the environment for the harmony of life and sustainable social development. We can start by following the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). We can easily start from hygienic collection, sorting waste by type, for example, perishable waste, recyclable waste, hazardous waste, etc. As for liquid waste, we need to manage and process it in a way that does not harm the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Proper storage of waste can lead to huge profits that we can recycle, especially waste that can be recycled into compost that is so useful for plants. We should try to reduce waste as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the same time, Waste Summit Cambodia, an annual summit that brings together waste stakeholders from the government to NGOs, business and advocates to discuss innovative waste solutions, organized a gathering in Phnom Penh on May 13, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the Waste Summit Cambodia Exhibition, many people participated and were also interested in the topics that the program organized about the waste management.
